Rules For Alienating Members
For the third year, GinCommGroup President Ginger Nichols provided customer service training for the Association of Performing Arts Presenters staff. This year, we also conducted a customer satisfaction survey to provide a baseline against which to measure future satisfaction levels.

Defining Potential Market Segments
Participants in a recent GinCommGroup workshop for the Association Forum of Chicagoland identified a variety of potential membership market segments in a brainstorming exercise. Visitors to Association World are invited to e-mail their suggestions to add to the list.
"15 Surefire Strategies To Build Membership"
One of the highlights of this track is Ginger Nichols' presentation on strategies for building membership, subtitled "Get 'Em & Keep 'Em." Ginger covers the broad strategies that every association can use to build membership.
As you review the strategies, think about the programs and activities you could use to carry out the strategies in your association.
Having a hard time getting started on that membership development plan? Use this handy outline to jump start your planning.
ASAE School of Association Management
Association World also features Ginger's presentations from the ASAE 1997 School of Association Management. "Methods and Techniques for Membership Recruitment" covers the fundamentals of recruiting, an outline of a recruitment plan, elements of a membership campaign, and tips to make your direct mail more effective.
